About BFG

What is Built For Greatness?

BFG is a Scripture-rooted AI companion. Ask any question — about faith, life, relationships, struggle, purpose — and receive thoughtful, biblically-grounded answers drawn from scripture and Christian tradition.

Is BFG a replacement for prayer or church?

Absolutely not. BFG is a study tool and conversational companion. It cannot replace prayer, your pastor, your community, or the Holy Spirit. Use it alongside your faith walk — not instead of it.

Are the answers reviewed by theologians?

Answers are generated by AI grounded in Scripture. We do our best to keep responses biblically faithful, but always weigh what you read against the Word and trusted spiritual leaders. BFG is a starting point, not the final word.

Can I have answers read aloud?

Yes. Tap the Listen button to have your guidance read aloud in a natural-sounding voice powered by Google Cloud TTS. Audio is available up to your monthly cap.

Can I read or hear answers in another language?

Yes. Use the language picker at the top of the widget to translate the entire answer and listen in 48 languages including Spanish, Vietnamese, French, Portuguese, Tagalog, and more. Translations count toward your monthly translation cap.

Prayer Reminders & Saved Guidance

What are Prayer Reminders?

Do you have a question to ask your BFG Handbook Companion? Prayer Reminders takes that same question and walks it forward, day by day, alongside today’s Catholic Mass readings and the saint the Church remembers. So the morning email is not a generic devotional — it is your chapter, your question, lit up by the readings the whole Church is hearing today. Pin the guidance that matters most; your prayer reminder will return to it with your personalized guidance. Wherever you are in your day, the Liturgy is meeting you there.

How much does Prayer Reminders cost?

Free for everyone. No subscription required.

How often will I receive reminders?

You choose. Up to four anchor moments a day — Morning Prayer, Midday Angelus, Evening Examen, and a Custom time of your choosing. Turn each one on or off independently. Pause for a week with a single tap, or unsubscribe entirely at any time.

How do I get reminders on my phone?

Two ways. Email reminders arrive in your inbox at the times you set. Push notifications on the BFG Handbook Companion mobile app arrive instantly when a reminder is due, even when your phone is locked. You can use either or both.

Can I see today’s reflection without opening my email?

Yes. Tap the push notification on Android and you land directly on an in-app preview that shows the saint of the day, your pinned chapter and question, the full reflection, the closing prayer, and today’s daily Mass readings — all in one place.

What languages are supported?

48 languages, including Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Italian, Tagalog, Polish, German, and many more. Set your preferred language inside BFG Handbook Companion and every reminder — email, push, and in-app preview — arrives in that language.

What does “pinning” guidance do?

When you ask a question in BFG and receive a guidance answer, you can pin the ones that matter most. Pinned guidance becomes the source material for your daily Prayer Reminders — each day, your reminder rotates through your pinned questions and connects them to today’s Catholic Mass readings. Pin up to 40 favorites; unpin any time.

What’s the difference between Pinned and Recent?

Recent automatically saves your last 12 questions so you can return to them without re-asking. Pinned is the favorites list you curate from your Recent — the questions you want walking with you in your daily prayer.

Can I delete a question from Recent?

Yes. Tap the trash icon on any Recent row to remove it, or use “Clear all recent” at the bottom of the panel. Pinned items are not affected. Removed items are recoverable for 30 days through your account.

How does the Saint of the Day feature work?

Every day the Catholic Church commemorates a saint or martyr. Prayer Reminders pulls today’s saint from reliable Catholic sources (Universalis, Franciscan Media, EWTN) and weaves their witness into your reflection — so you’re not just praying with the Liturgy, you’re praying with the saint who walked the same road before you. Their name, brief life, and a famous quote appear at the top of every reminder.

Is there a home-screen widget?

Yes — for Android phones running BFG Handbook Companion. Long-press your home screen, choose Widgets, and drag “BFG Daily Prayer Reminder” onto your screen. The widget shows today’s saint, your pinned chapter, your question, and a short reflection — refreshed automatically every 30 minutes and instantly when a new reminder is sent. iOS coming soon.
