Pope John Paul II believed all the Church’s energies should move toward the New Evangelization for the new millennium. One of the main focal points of John Paul II’s pontificate was ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. He believed the Church should enter the 3rd millennium in unity. He called upon all Christians to come together and be united as One, under One God, for a New Evangelization.

The Mission of the Redeemer by John Paul II underlines that the crisis of our engagement in mission, is not the act of faith, but the content of faith. We must be armed with a basic understanding of our faith in a renewed expression for modern times. Therefore, the Church needs a handbook for evangelization in terms of the content of the faith. Without a handbook for that work of proclamation, the Church cannot engage in mission and effectively proclaim the gospel.

Today, we must proclaim the gospel using a universal language of the truth that people can easily understand, expanding into different cultures, history, and connecting with the creeds of other faiths. This new expression of the gospel is the BFG Handbook, Christian Edition of the Tao Te Ching. This handbook is an essential tool to clarify the gospel for our modern world. Its shared universal truth will build new bridges between the churches and different religions of the world. It will unite us to begin a meaningful dialogue without emphasizing political or religious differences, because the core principles share a common truth. The BFG handbook is not a different gospel, but a presentation of the gospel that is new through its expression, through its methods, and through its ardor. It is a necessary tool for the New Evangelization, made even more pertinent by recent global events.
