Second Vatican Council, a return to the Word of God. Pope Pius X
(1903-1914) described St. Thérèse as "The greatest saint of
modern times." Jesus showed her how to live her vocation by fully
practicing the commandment of love, enabling her to fully engage in
the center heart of the Church's mission. This will shed new light on
the faith, leading to a more profound understanding of Christ's
            mysteries.

“Charity gave me the key to my vocation. I understood that
if the Church had a body composed of different members, the most
necessary and most noble of all could not be lacking to it, and so I
understood that the Church had a heart and that this heart was
burning with love. I understood that it was love alone that made the
Church’s members act, that if love were ever extinguished, apostles
would not proclaim the Gospel and martyrs would refuse to shed
their blood. I understood that love includes all vocations…. Then in
the excess of my delirious joy, I cried out: “O Jesus, my Love … at
last I have found my vocation; my vocation is Love!’” ~ St. Thérèse
            de Lisieux (Ms B, 3vº)

St. Thérèse path is not one of great undertakings but one
accessible to all, known as the "Little Way." She receives
everything as "grace" because her relationship with Christ is at the
center of everything. It is a journey of trust and complete surrender
to God. In truth, it is a demanding journey but a path of unwavering
faith, making even the most rigorous spiritual commitment feel light.

The BFG Handbook follows St. Thérèse de Lisieux's
teachings, "The Little Way," for understanding the universal truth of
God, especially in modern times, between different cultures and the
