On January 1, 2023, the divine message given to Fr.
Michael Barry—“God Sends”—reached its fulfillment in a
momentous event. On this day, Bishop Kevin W. Vann adopted
Keith Hoang as his Spiritual Son in Nam Dinh, Vietnam. This
adoption not only honored the enduring legacy of faith but also
marked the beginning of a new chapter in their shared mission to
proclaim the Gospel across the world. It took place in Keith’s
ancestral homeland, carrying with it a blessing that resonated with
the rich spiritual heritage of the land—a land known for its abundant
natural beauty, including countless trees and flowing rivers and
streams that stretch in every direction. The people of Nam Dinh
now recognize Bishop Vann as their Spiritual Father, underscoring
the deep impact of this event and its alignment with their mission to
spread the Gospel.
This first sign from God became evident during their visit
to Vietnam. This country is renowned for its deeply devout people
and historical significance as a place where the sacrifices of
martyrs have deeply influenced the spiritual landscape. Specifically,
Nam Dinh stands as a crucial center for evangelization in Vietnam.
This region represents the starting point for restoring truth and the
New Evangelization, aligning with the divine plan that designates
the East as the birthplace of this spiritual renewal.
The landscape of Nam Dinh, with its lush greenery,
flowing rivers, and abundant streams, mirrors the nurturing qualities
of the BFG Handbook. Just as the fertile land supports a thriving
