                                  Chapter 14
                                Presence of God

                                 a
We look and do not see it
            And call it invisible
                                  b
We listen and do not hear it
            And call it silent
                                   a
We reach and do not grasp it
            And call it formless
                                      c
            These three cannot be fathomed
Thus, they are joined into One

                                    d
            Above, there is no brightness
            Below, there is no darkness
                            e
            Infinite, unnamable
Returning to the realm of nothingness
            The form of the formless
            The image of the imageless
            Indefinable, beyond all imagination f
Approach it, there is no beginning
                                       a
Follow it, there is no end

                                                 g
When one knows the Spirit of the ancient past
One can begin to understand the present
Knowing the mystery of the beginning
Is the way to know God
